When I discovered this article in GQ Magazine about Rolex watches, I was excited to read it. I am obsessed with all kinds of watches, but mostly Rolex, GUESS, and Ed Hardy watches. I notice the author starts the article out with the first Rolex watch that was created in the 1930’s. I was fascinated to know how Rolex began. During the early 1930’s the only technology around was in watches.
Two and half decades later, Rolex launched their new line of watches called “Cosmograph”. The design of the Cosmograph had units of measurement in addition to elapsed time. Rolex wanted to give acknowledgment to Daytona Fl Speedway. Daytona was supplementary to Cosmograph. The Cosmograph Daytona became a driver’s watch. However, this was not the last watch Rolex creates.
Later in 1965, a model 6240 “Oyster” was added to the line. The Oyster has trip lock winding crowns and waterproof pushers. Kilometers along with miles measured the speed in the Cosmograph Daytona. With this upgrade, the watch is good for several years after purchase. Race experts around the world use the Cosmograph Daytona. Tom Kristensen, a racer and owner of a rolex. He won the “24 Hours of Le Mans” race eight times. The Cosmograph Daytona is nowhere near typical. The watch has chronometric architecture with 290 components. Rolex watches are designed to be clever, quick, and enhanced then before.

In 1972, The Dead toured Europe for the first time. On the tour the band performed in Germany, France, Denmark and Holland. This year in fall the band will release footage of the tour from 1972 as well as their original music from the day they started performing music. Even though I was not born then “Dead” was popular in the United States and overseas.
Rolling Stone Magazine is about the world of music from the past and future. DavidFricke who wrote the article wanted to inform readers what happened to the band 'The Dead'also let their fans know what are their upcoming activities and events.
